Noice disturbance
Noise disturbance, the project where my love for experimenting with sound and picture tubes originated. This project developed with fellow student Victor Vantome starts from experimenting with sound.
This starts from the idea that sound in a space is just more than what you hear. Connecting sound cables to the videoinput of an old picture tube causes a disturbance that becomes visible on the screen. The sound input creates various interference of light on the picture tube. For the installation we built a tent from black foil that reflects the light. Everything in the tent was also wrapped with this same foil. A subwoofer in the tent makes the sound tangible.
An experience of light, sound and feeling completely controlled by the sound sent to the picture tubes.
