The citadel of Diest as locus of revitalisation and consciousness
This project starts with the citadel of Diest, taking an approach towards hardcore heritage. After researching the site's history and use, I came up with a haptic analysis. From this analysis it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to make something not so much with a function but rather with a haptic experience. From this emerged the locus for consciousness and revitalisation. The use of certain architectural elements present in the building and its surroundings created a play with light and sound. The design is free of function and can be used in a different way by each visitor to escape the hustle and bustle of life.
